Unlike many other IT support providers, Julia the PC GP’s priority is to help her clients minimise, or where possible prevent, many common IT issues.
This can often be achieved by way of regular home visits (or meet-ups for mobile devices).
Assistance can be provided in a number of different ways to suit my clients, 3 of which are shown below
I specialise in assisting with computer issues which simply cannot be resolved by taking the item from your house to a computer shop. For example:-
a) You cannot connect your laptop to your printer
b) A new device won’t link to your current home broadband service
I also provide support via the following 2 methods:
Examples of the types of IT support I have offered my clients over the previous 10 years are:-
- Troubleshooting software issues with Windows and installed programs
- Scanning
- Emailing attachments
- Outlook on PCs or mobile devices
- Cloud storage setup
- Backup drive setup
- Folder and file management
- Setting up and transferring data between old and new smartphones (whether Android or iOS)
- PC transfer – assisting with program re-installation, settings and bringing over files
I can support clients who experience a variety of digital challenges for a variety of different reasons:-
- Visual impairment including blindness (needing use of screenreaders or audio description)
- Hearing loss
- Cognitive impairments resulting from learning difficulties such as Dyslexia and those who are autistic or have ADHD/ADD
- Digital exclusion due to lack of access to items and/or training in how to use them
