Are you aware that all utility companies run a Priority Service Register for their clients?
Below is an image about the one run by Thames Water at https://www.thameswater.co.uk/help/extra-care/priority-services
It helps utility companies* look after customers who have health, access or extra communication needs and helps them tailor our services to support households who need extra help.
Each service and indeed each company will offer differing levels of support (available when you enquire or on their website), but it can prevent the sudden disconnection by a company of life-essential services such as electricity from a person in their 80s who could die in a cold home!
Even if you’ve registered in the past, it’s a wise idea to regualrly check that you are still on the register and that the details being held for you are still up to date.
If you would like assistance with looking online into what services are available from your local water, gas and electricity companies, I would be delighted to assist you – just enquire now.
(* Utilities include gas and electricity suppliers – the networks companies who transport energy to your home – and meter operators and water and sewerage companies).
To assist you to register, or help family and friends register, I’ve looked up websites for Priority Services Registers run by other utility company and shown them below:-
